My name is Joshua Michaelis. I am a Special Education Teacher in Plano, TX.

Before teaching, I was a Children’s Social Worker and worked in the corporate world. I have always seen myself as an educator and it was the experiences of those positions that led me to pursue a teaching career.

Foremost, I am a lifelong learner. New information, new ways to do things, new knowledge all excite me. Professional conferences are a nirvana for me as my head is filled with new ideas and conversations with other Educators. We are never too old or smart to dedicate time to learning about something we care about, something we are passionate about. It is my goal to learn something new every day. It doesn’t have to be a universe shattering piece of knowledge, it can be something as simple as learning a show a colleague likes to watch.
